Where is Earth Day?
The Santa Barbara Earth Day Festival is held at Alameda Park, Santa Barbara.
Why drive to Earth Day? Come Car Free!
Alameda Park, where the Earth Day Festival is held, is easily reached on foot or by bike, bus, shuttle or train. Cars are a major source of smog pollution and greenhouses gases contributing to global climate change. Get in the spirit and enjoy car ‘free-dom’ on Earth Day!
Check out the Santa Barbara Metropolitan (MTD) bus and electric shuttle system. They'll get you where you want to be! If you are coming from Ventura, you also have the option of taking the Coastal Express Bus.
Want to find out if your friends and neighbors are carpooling to the Festival? Check out the Zimride Earth Day carpool page. Zimride is a Facebook application so it makes it easy to post rides, view potential rides, and no registration with Facebook connect!
Bike to the Festival and get free valet bike parking! Hop on a Bike Train and cycle to Earth Day among friends and community members. If you prefer to go it alone, view the online bike maps at www.trafficsolutions.info to plan your route. You’ll find safe, secure (and free!) valet bike parking at the corner of Santa Barbara and Micheltorena Streets.
The Festival is a short walk from many parts of Santa Barbara. Many neighborhoods like the Westside, Oak Park, or the Eastside are less than a 30 minute stroll. Lace up your walking shoes, enjoy the view, and get some exercise on the way!
